I’m Devon Stone, a Forward Deployed Engineer (Legal Engineer) based in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. I embed with enterprise SaaS accounts to launch complex integrations, drive adoption of AI-powered features, and build the operational systems and AI-augmented playbooks that make implementations stick, from initial onboarding through long-term adoption.

Spending the last several years inside a fast-growing legal technology SaaS company was one of the most formative experiences of my career. Working across QA, client analytics, implementation, and engineering gave me a complete picture of how software companies grow and where they tend to break. I built broad product and business knowledge along the way, and became someone leadership and internal teams could bring into almost any problem and trust to figure it out.

Part of that work involved partnering directly with law firms, using product and platform data to help them better understand their client experience, identify workflow gaps, and build stronger operational processes. While that work happened in legal tech, the core of it was really about understanding how people, systems, and processes interact, then finding practical ways to make them work better. That’s the kind of problem-solving I’m most drawn to, whether it lives inside software or the broader operations of a business.

When I'm not in front of a screen, I build acoustic guitars by hand. The patience and attention to detail transfer more than you might expect.

Embedded go-live acceleration for enterprise accounts

Pioneered a hands-on engagement model as a Forward Deployed Engineer (Legal Engineer) at Case Status, working inside client environments to clear technical blockers in real time. In one engagement, transformed a 1,400-case data backlog into a prioritized, color-coded worklist cross-referenced against the client's case management system, enabling the client to clear 850 cases in a single session and launch on schedule, with production sync issues diagnosed and fixed live on the call.

Managed a portfolio of 80+ law firm implementations at Case Status, sitting at the intersection of product, engineering, and client operations.
